About Us : Ethical Policy
Discrimination
When managers are conducting interviews they should be aware that legislation exists relating to sexual, racial and disability discrimination in employment. It is unlawful and against our company values to discriminate on grounds of disability, sex, marriage, racial or ethnic origin when selecting applicants and during the interview process. The following procedure should therefore be adopted:
Questions asked during the interview should relate to the requirements of the job. Where it is necessary to assess whether personal circumstances will affect performance of the job (e.g. unsocial hours or extensive travel) then this should be discussed objectively without detailed questions based on assumptions about marital status, children or domestic obligations. Questions about marriage plans or family intentions should not be asked.
Equal Opportunity Policy
We believe that a work force that represents a diversity of interests, backgrounds and talents gives us a strength and a vitality that are essential to our way of doing business. We are committed to recruiting, hiring and operating our business without discrimination because of race, colour, religion, national origin, marital status or disability.
An essential aspect of equal opportunity at The Workstation is the right to participate and be valued as a team member. We are responsible for enabling participation by others, without discrimination, and for protecting our own rights and those of fellow workers.
